How do I convert MP3 to FLAC?
Some music libraries, players, or archives are organized around FLAC and expect that format for consistency. Converting an MP3 to FLAC fits it into that setup, as long as you understand it will not sound any better than the original MP3.
Upload your MP3 file and choose FLAC as the output, then download it. FLAC is lossless, but converting an MP3 cannot add back quality the MP3 already discarded. The result is a lossless copy of a lossy source: larger than the MP3 with no improvement in how it actually sounds.
How it works
Upload your MP3 file
Select or drag in the MP3 you want to convert to FLAC.
Choose FLAC as the output
Set FLAC as the target to wrap the audio in a lossless container.
Download your FLAC
Save the FLAC file to fit it into a library or player that expects the format.
